Accelerated Loss of Mains Change Programme and Distribution Network Operator

What is the Accelerated Loss of Mains Change Programme (ALoMCP)?

The ALoMCP applies to and offers funding to non-domestic distributed generators that were connected before Februray 2018 to upgrade their hardware in a move that will improve network resilience, and support wider initiatives helping meet the UK’s net zero targets.

All of the applicable generators will have to update their protection settings by the 1st of September 2022 or they could be the subject of an enforcement programme due to the Distribution Code. Generators are told to review their Loss of Mains protection settings now to make sure they are complaisant before the deadline.

When changes are required, sites may apply to the ALoMCP scheme for a grant, participating in the programme is the easiest way for generators to provide certification of their compliance
